EPIC Health’s ‘Instant Visits’ Program Now Available at All Locations, Enhancing Real-Time Access to Specialist Care During Primary Appointments
DETROIT, Mich. – January 17, 2024 – EPIC Health is proud to announce the expansion of its innovative “Instant Visits” program to all office locations. This groundbreaking initiative allows patients to access real-time consultations with specialists during their primary care appointments, eliminating the need for additional trips and ensuring comprehensive care.
The Instant Visits program was developed to address common barriers to healthcare access, particularly for patients impacted by social determinants of health, such as transportation challenges. By offering real-time feedback and specialist interventions, EPIC Health aims to streamline the care process and improve patient outcomes.
With Instant Visits, patients can receive immediate feedback from specialists on diagnostic workups, lab orders, or any other healthcare needs while visiting their primary care physician. This integrated approach ensures that patients can get the necessary answers and adjustments without delay.
For example, a menopausal patient seeking adjustments to her estrogen hormone replacement therapy (HRT) was recently able to consult with EPIC Health OB/Gyn specialist Dr. Brodsky during her primary care appointment. Dr. Brodsky provided real-time feedback and adjustments, saving the patient a separate trip to the specialist’s office.
The Instant Visits program has also been launched for behavioral health services. During primary care visits, patients can have a brief consultation and intervention with a behavioral health specialist. This approach helps establish a therapeutic relationship and encourages more patients to engage in ongoing therapy, reducing stigma and fostering mental wellness.
